Job Opening: Assistant Teacher


Grace Bible Academy is looking for an assistant teacher to assist in our efforts to provide a quality afterschool experience for the students at GBA.  The ideal candidate has a love for Jesus Christ, a love for working with children, and is self-motivated.

This is currently a full-time position that works year-round in our school, our afterschool program, and summer care program. The hours are Monday thru Friday from 9:30am – 5:30pm.


  • Create a loving and safe environment for the children in our care
  • Assist in the development of lesson plans with afterschool staff and the director
  • Provide assistance with homework and remedial work as necessary
  • Maintain accurate records including attendance, emergency drills, and student records
  • Ensure compliance of Kentucky’s child care regulations
  • Create a warm and inviting afterschool setting by interacting with families and children daily
  • Act as a ‘floater’ and assist where needed in the classroom on a regular basis or for specific activities
  • Monitor all age groups during lunch
  • Complete 15 clock hours of professional development annually
  • Complete an annual professional development plan
  • All other duties assigned by the director


  • A high school diploma or GED required at minimum
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Must complete cabinet approved Orientation for Early Care & Education Professionals
  • 15 hours of professional development annually


  • Previous experience working in a child care setting
  • Previous experience working with large groups of elementary-aged students
  • Current CPR & First-Aid certification
